5G SESAMO
5G infrastructure for secure and safe mobility and logistics

5G SESAMO is a project aimed at accelerating the development of advanced digital infrastructure in Italy, enhancing the potential of 5G Standalone networks as a strategic lever for the transformation of key sectors such as smart mobility, logistics, digital health, and emergency and security services.
Through the implementation and testing of advanced 5G coverage in selected urban and industrial contexts, the project develops an interoperable and scalable infrastructure capable of supporting innovative applications safely and efficiently.
5G SESAMO integrates enabling technologies such as edge computing, cloud, federated hybrid networks, and secure communication systems, experimenting with concrete use cases related to advanced logistics, the use of drones, telemedicine, and emergency management.
The project thus contributes to the digital transformation of the national system, strengthening European competitiveness and promoting safer, more efficient, and sustainable mobility models.
