ADvance: the Italian Living Lab

The ADvance project aims to transform urban mobility through connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV), promoting awareness and participation of citizens and creating a bridge between technology, society, and urban policies. The initiative develops a network of Living Labs distributed across Italy, in collaboration with universities, local communities, and industrial partners, to experiment with sustainable mobility solutions in real contexts. Each Living Lab is an open innovation environment where citizens, students, researchers, and companies collaborate to design and test new paradigms of autonomous transportation, ensuring that technologies respond to real needs.

ADvance includes educational activities, live demonstrations, and participation in significant events such as the 1000 Miglia and the Motor Valley Fest, showcasing cutting-edge prototypes and engaging audiovisual materials. High school students are involved to stimulate interest in STEM disciplines and prepare them as future protagonists of change. Industrial partners contribute to the design of public activities, while researchers collaborate to develop integrated solutions that connect infrastructures, vehicles, and users in a safe and efficient manner.

The project's approach is decentralized and inclusive, with particular attention to the southern regions, fostering interaction between local communities, academic research, and the industrial sector. In this way, ADvance not only tests innovative technologies but also stimulates responsible and aware behaviors, developing an advanced urban ecosystem that integrates safety, efficiency, and sustainability, laying the groundwork for a future mobility centered around people.
