GIRO-E
The Giro-E represents an innovative project that accompanies the Giro d’Italia and has grown significantly in terms of participation as well as media and cultural relevance over its six years of development. Born as a non-competitive cycling event dedicated to pedal-assisted bicycles, the Giro-E has established itself as a platform for promoting sustainable mobility, inclusion, and new models of enjoying sports and the territory.
The project involves a broad and articulated ecosystem, which includes institutions, companies, sponsors, universities, and technical partners, united by the goal of enhancing sustainable innovation in a real and high-visibility context. In this framework, collaborations with RCS Sport & Events and entities committed to developing responsible solutions for mobility and industry are included, contributing to strengthen the message of Giro-E as a laboratory of good practices.
A central element of the project is the attention to the environmental and social impacts of sporting events, addressed through analysis and measurement activities that highlight virtuous practices and areas for improvement, guiding future choices in a sustainability perspective. The Giro-E thus becomes not only a sporting event, but also a tool for awareness, research, and storytelling, capable of combining sports, innovation, light mobility, and social responsibility along the route of the Giro d’Italia.
