High Integrated Hybrid Smart Plug

The SMART STORAGE PLUG project aims to create hybrid charging stations for electric vehicles, powered both by the electric grid and renewable sources, integrated with local storage systems. The initiative involves the installation of two prototypes: a network of low power charging points (<7 kW) in urban contexts with high housing density and limited availability of private garages, and a high power station in Milan, equipped with photovoltaic systems and storage solutions. In both cases, the presence of storage batteries allows for maximum flexibility in energy management, including Vehicle-to-Grid (V1G) mode, and reduces the impact on the local electric grid.

The intelligent control system integrates algorithms of computational intelligence that optimize energy flows based on weather forecasts, user behaviors, and resource availability, ensuring safety, efficiency, and service continuity. The aim is to create urban and intermodal energy hubs capable of supporting accessible and sustainable electric mobility, with additional functions such as environmental monitoring, security, and personalized charging management.

The project also involves the development of smart interfaces and applications for managing charging times, selecting renewable energy, reserving parking spots, and potentially implementing additional services such as diagnostic hubs or goods collection points. The modularity of the solution allows for adapting the stations to condominiums, corporate fleets, or public parking lots, ensuring scalability and future upgradability, including innovative solutions like wireless charging or rapid battery replacement.

With the SMART STORAGE PLUG, Italy is equipped with an industrial and replicable solution for smart, safe, and sustainable charging stations, integrating renewable sources, storage, and digital management to promote the transition to more efficient and environmentally friendly urban and intermodal mobility.
