Research and innovation in rail transport - Spoke 4

At the Politecnico di Milano, the event “Research and Innovations in Railway Transport,” organized by Spoke 4 of MOST.

A moment of discussion among universities, research centers, and businesses to share the results achieved and future prospects on capacity, decarbonization, digitalization, and innovation in railway transport.

Among the topics addressed: mobile block signaling systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulations to increase line capacity; hydrogen trains and reversible substations to reduce emissions; digital twin and predictive maintenance to improve safety and reliability; long and safe freight trains; automation to make freight terminals more productive and augmented reality to support staff training for more efficient railcar maintenance.
