Spoke 13: technologies and innovation for electric mobility

October 8, 2025 - At the Politecnico di Milano Campus Bovisa, a new appointment of the MOST dedicated to Spoke 13, the heart of research on technologies for electric traction and energy storage.
The challenge that guides us is clear: to make electric mobility increasingly efficient, reliable, and sustainable. We do this by designing electric machines and innovative power converters, developing intelligent software for mobility management, and studying next-generation materials for electrochemical storage. Alongside batteries, supercapacitors, and fuel cells, we also work on solutions for fast and ultra-fast charging infrastructures to transform the user experience into a simple and daily gesture.
Spoke 13 is not just technology: it is also experimentation. In our Living Labs, we test and validate solutions in real-world contexts, paving the way for a mobility ecosystem that integrates renewables, storage systems, and smart grids. A commitment that is nourished by national and European collaborations to amplify the impact of research and bring closer the future we envision.
