Wind Investigation of Drones in Customized Conditions
The developed activity puts MOST at the forefront in Europe for the analysis, certification, and development of drones intended for urban operations. WINDED arises from the collective desire to deepen the interdisciplinary understanding of the technical challenges related to the integration and operation of drones in urban contexts.
To fully harness the potential of drones in replacing human action in dangerous scenarios, such as fires, extreme weather conditions, or strong winds, a significant advancement in understanding drone performance in these extreme conditions is necessary. WINDED adopts an innovative approach to provide policymakers and stakeholders with the necessary tools to estimate the risks of drone operations in the last/middle mile phases, developing a distributed and "live" laboratory where innovative technologies are proposed, tested, and verified in repeatable environments representative of real scenarios.
